Job announcements relevant to people interested in electronic structure calculations…

Due to the large number of posts recently, there is currently a delay of several weeks between posts being submitted and the corresponding emails being distributed to all users. Please bear with us while we try to improve this. In the meantime – and until this notice is removed – it would assist us considerably if you could submit only important and/or urgent posts and thus help to reduce the size of the mail queue. Under no circumstances should you resend posts multiple times when you find the emails are not distributed immediately.

In light of the Russian military offensive in Ukraine, we request that announcements relating to events, jobs and other activities associated with institutions supported by the Russian and Belarusian states are not posted to the Psi-k forum.

A postdoctoral position in computational discovery and design of new materials is open in Professors Geoffroy Hautier and Gian-Marco Rignanese’s groups at Université catholique de Louvain (UCL) in Belgium.

The starting date would be ideally January 2018.

Applicants must have a PhD degree in materials science, chemistry or physics (or equivalent). Previous experience in ab initio computing and density functional theory (DFT) is required. Experience in battery, or python programming will be considered very positively. Our groups (http://perso.uclouvain.be/geoffroy.hautier/ and http://perso.uclouvain.be/gian-marco.rignanese/) offer an outstanding scientific environment with worldwide collaborations in the heart of Europe. We pursue our work in close collaboration with the Materials Project (http://www.materialsproject.org).

Applicants should send their application (motivation letter, CV, contact info for 3 references) by e-mail to Geoffroy Hautier ([email protected]). Please use as e-mail subject: “postdoctoral application UCL 2018”
