Announcements of conferences, workshops, schools…

Due to the large number of posts recently, there is currently a 3-4 week delay between posts being submitted and emails being sent to the mailing list. Please bear with us while we try to improve this.

In light of the Russian military offensive in Ukraine, we request that announcements relating to events, jobs and other activities associated with institutions supported by the Russian and Belarusian states are not posted to the Psi-k forum.

We are writing to announce a CECAM workshop entitled "Hot colloids", to be held in Lyon, France from 11th June to 13th June 2018. The idea of the workshop is to bring together people from thermal sciences, soft matter/statistical physics and nano-optics, both experimentalists and theoreticians working on illuminated nanoparticles in solution and thermal transport in nanofluids and fluid suspensions. Topics covered by the workshop include :

-thermophoresis, thermoosmosis
-Kapitza resistance, heat transfer phase change
-collective effects, microswimmers, statistical mechanics of heated nanoparticles
-transport properties of nanofluids, solar energy conversion by nanofluids
-laser heated nanoparticles and their biomedical applications

The workshop is now open to submissions of abstracts for contributed talks and posters. The deadline for submission is March 18th, 2018 (acceptance notification by early April). Please note that there is no registration fee to this workshop.
We would appreciate if you could circulate this information to potentially interested colleagues.
