A two-year postdoctoral position is offered to work on first-principles modeling of 2D materials (graphene, transition metal dichalcogenides and other layer materials) at the University of Rome la Sapienza (Italy) under the supervision of Prof. Francesco Mauri. The research will be carried in collaboration with Prof. Matteo Calandra in Paris (France). The fellowship, supported by the graphene flagship initiative, will be granted by the IIT and should start on April 2016.

The candidate will carry out first principles and analytical calculations to understand the physical properties of these materials with a focus on transport, superconductivity, electron-phonon interaction, carrier relaxation, magnetic and charge-density-wave instabilities. The candidate should have a solid background in condensed matter physics and a good experience in electronic structure calculations.

Interested candidates can apply electronically (CV including full publication list and references) by sending an email to: [email protected]
