We invite applications for a postdoctoral position, under the
supervision of Prof. Hanghui Chen, in the group of materials theory
and design at New York University Shanghai (www.hanghuichen.org).
This position focuses on the study of emergent phenomena in artificially
designed strongly correlated oxides, in particular those
related to charge transfer, quantum confinement and high pressure.

Highly motivated candidates holding a PhD degree in physics, materials
science, chemistry or other closely related fields (at the time of
appointment) are strongly encouraged to apply. Prior experience in
electronic structure calculations at the DFT-level and programming is
necessary. Familarity with many-body theory, in particular Dynamical
Mean Field Theory (DMFT) is highly desirable. The successful candidate
is anticipated to make close ties with experimental works in New York
University (NYU, New York), East China Normal University (ECNU,
Shanghai) and Center for High Pressure Science and Technology Advanced
Research (HPSTAR, Shanghai).

term is for 12 months initially, with possibility of extension.
