Fully funded postdoc positions are available in the Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics Group at SPS, NISER, Bhubaneswar, INDIA. After submission of the application or writing to any of the PI’s, (Dr. Anamitra Mukherjee, [email protected]Dr. Ashis Kr. Nandy, [email protected]Dr. Kush Saha, [email protected]) if shortlisted, you will be invited to give a talk at NISER (online mode) after which the final selection will be made. The position will be initially for one year with yearly extensions, up to a maximum of three years. The salary will be according to DAE/UGC rules. Accommodation will be within the Campus.

Job Summary:

  • To conduct independent research with the team on multidimensional problems based on strongly correlated electronic systems, theory of spectroscopy such as RIXS, Neutron diffraction, Auger & photoemission, multiscale materials modeling theory & simulations, theory of quantum materials, non-linear transports, chiral magnetism, nontrivial topological magnetism, magnon theory in complex materials, theory of quasi-periodic crystals, theory of nonequilibrium dynamics etc.

Requirements:

  • PhD degree in the area of many-body theory or theory of strong correlation physics or materials theory or first principles electronic structure theory or mesoscopic physics.
  • Both analytical and numerical skills in the area of quantum condensed matter systems.
  • Expertise in DFT, DMFT methods or Keldysh and diagrammatic field theory; atomistic and/or micromagnetic spin dynamics simulations; Molecular Dynamics Simulations.
