Job announcements relevant to people interested in electronic structure calculations…

Due to the large number of posts recently, there is currently a delay of several weeks between posts being submitted and the corresponding emails being distributed to all users. Please bear with us while we try to improve this. In the meantime – and until this notice is removed – it would assist us considerably if you could submit only important and/or urgent posts and thus help to reduce the size of the mail queue. Under no circumstances should you resend posts multiple times when you find the emails are not distributed immediately.

In light of the Russian military offensive in Ukraine, we request that announcements relating to events, jobs and other activities associated with institutions supported by the Russian and Belarusian states are not posted to the Psi-k forum.

I am looking for two postdoctoral fellows to fill two vacancies related to quantum technology. The two positions are part of a broader endeavour of the DIPC about quantum technology.

Specifically, the positions are associated with the following topics:

1. Quantum simulation in condensed-matter and ultracold atom platforms (in collaboration with Miguel A. Cazalilla @DIPC). For this position, the applicants should have a PhD in Physics (or equivalent) and a demonstrated research experience in the field of strongly correlated systems (quantum magnetism, low-dimensional systems, superconductivity, and related topics) as well as some working knowledge of the effects of spin-orbit or synthetic gauge fields.

2. Theoretical research on the design of quantum annealers based on non-conventional superconducting circuits and new quantum materials (in collaboration with Miguel A. Cazalilla @DIPC and Sebastian Bergeret @CFM-CSIC). For this position, the applicants should have a PhD in Physics (or equivalent) and demonstrated research experience in the theory of quantum transport and knowledge on superconductivity.

Experience in teamwork and collaboration with experimental groups will also be positively evaluated for both positions.

More information can be found here, positions 3 and 5.
