A postdoctoral research fellow position is open immediately in the Department of Physics, National University of Singapore. Successful candidate will work in a large team of experimentalists and theorists in the study of geometrical quantum materials. He/she is expected to perform first-principles calculations to (i) design geometrical quantum materials (ii) to provide theoretical understanding for interesting experimental discoveries, and (iii) to test hypotheses and verify theoretical predictions prior to experimental synthesis.
Candidates should have a Ph.D degree in physics, materials science or a closely related field (awarded or to be awarded soon), with a good understanding of theories and methods in condensed matter physics. He/she must be well versed in research areas such as topological materials, first-principles calculations based on density functional theory and beyond, and excellent communication skills (in English), both oral and written. Experience in collaboration with experimentalists and theorists is highly desirable.
