PostDoctoral Position on many-body or density-functional theory - University of Jyväskylä

Duration: The position is initially until January 2023 but an extension to July 2023 and perhaps longer is possible.

Net Salary: 3400 euro/month or more depending on the experience

Description: The research focusses on fundamental aspects of diagrammatic many-body theory or (time-dependent) density functional theory with a main focus on theory development and further establishment of mathematical foundations. The work requires a solid background in either diagrammatic perturbation theory or density functional theory and preferably both, and have a broad knowledge of mathematics. Programming skills are an advantage for testing and illustrating newly developed theory in selected applications.The ideal candidate should have a Ph.D. in theoretical or mathematical physics or be a mathematician with a strong interest in theoretical physics.

The appointed person will work with Robert van Leeuwen but the group is well-connected with several other renowned research groups in many-body and electronic structure theory and other collaborations may be possible.
