A postdoctoral position is available in the research group of Prof. Michael Thoss at the Institute of Physics, University of Freiburg, Germany.
The research project involves the theoretical investigation of photophysical properties and dynamical processes in novel molecular materials with applications to organic electronics and photovoltaics. Topics include the characterization of building blocks of molecular materials using high-level electronic structure calculations as well as the modeling and dynamical simulation of photoinduced charge and energy transfer processes. The project is part of a close collaboration with the research group of Prof. Pedro Coto (Materials Physics Center, Donostia-San Sebastian, Spain) and experimental groups from laser physics. Recent publications and an overview of ongoing projects in the group can be found at https://www.thcp.uni-freiburg.de.
The position can be filled immediately. The initial appointment is for one year, with the possibility of extension upon mutual agreement.
Applicants should hold a PhD in theoretical physics or theoretical chemistry and have substantial experience with high-level electronic structure calculations for excited states (e.g. MCSCF/MRPT, CC, MRCI, GW/BSE methods). Furthermore, experience in the simulation of magnetic interactions in molecules or a background in quantum reaction dynamics will be of advantage.
Interested candidates are invited to send their application including a CV, list of publications, a statement of qualifications relevant for the position, and names and contact information of three references via email to [email protected].
