Job announcements relevant to people interested in electronic structure calculations…

Due to the large number of posts recently, there is currently a delay of several weeks between posts being submitted and the corresponding emails being distributed to all users. Please bear with us while we try to improve this. In the meantime – and until this notice is removed – it would assist us considerably if you could submit only important and/or urgent posts and thus help to reduce the size of the mail queue. Under no circumstances should you resend posts multiple times when you find the emails are not distributed immediately.

In light of the Russian military offensive in Ukraine, we request that announcements relating to events, jobs and other activities associated with institutions supported by the Russian and Belarusian states are not posted to the Psi-k forum.

Two postdoc positions are available immediately at Peking University, Beijing, China.

Position #1: Studying new quantum materials using ab initio methods.

Position #2: Developing new electronic structure methods for applications in real materials.

We offer a 2-year contract for each position with the possibility of extension. The positions are fully funded (by NSFC and CAS) at the same level of “Peking University Boya postdoc fellowship”. See details of Boya at https://postdocs.pku.edu.cn/tzgg/125245.htm.

Requirements:

Experience in electronic structure calculations (for both positions) and artificial intelligence algorithms (for position #2).

PhD degree in physics, chemistry, materials science, or related topics.

Good English and programming skills.

The group:

Our group focuses on development and application of forefront first principles computational methods in condensed matter and materials physics. We deal with both electronic structures and molecular simulations. See more details on our webpage.
