A 2-year postdoctoral position is available to work with Prof Nicholas Hine, in the Theory Group of the Department of Physics at the University of Warwick. The position will involve advancing the scope and scale of Linear-Scaling Density Functional Theory Calculations with the ONETEP LS-DFT code through development of wide ranging functionality.

Key responsibilities include: designing and implementing new data structures within the ONETEP code (http://www.onetep.org) to enable future software sustainability and new functionalities; developing new functionality in the ONETEP code to enable applications to complex surfaces and vdW heterostructures; demonstrating the capability of your developments through exemplar applications to materials of interest and in collaboration with experimental partners.

This position is a great opportunity to get involved in a wide range of types of calculation with a wide range of collaborators – experimental and theoretical. The position suits candidates at any stage of their career who have demonstrable ability in programming for scientific applications. We would like to recruit someone with some level of coding experience, preferably in a compiled language - please ensure your application gives evidence of this.
