Job announcements relevant to people interested in electronic structure calculations…

Due to the large number of posts recently, there is currently a delay of several weeks between posts being submitted and the corresponding emails being distributed to all users. Please bear with us while we try to improve this. In the meantime – and until this notice is removed – it would assist us considerably if you could submit only important and/or urgent posts and thus help to reduce the size of the mail queue. Under no circumstances should you resend posts multiple times when you find the emails are not distributed immediately.

In light of the Russian military offensive in Ukraine, we request that announcements relating to events, jobs and other activities associated with institutions supported by the Russian and Belarusian states are not posted to the Psi-k forum.

Postdoctoral position in Paris: electronic structure of materials with strong electron correlations.

A postdoctoral position is available in the `Quantum Materials' group of College de France(Paris) and CPHT-Ecole Polytechnique(Palaiseau), in the general area of electronic structure calculations of strongly correlated materials.

The group involves Antoine Georges (PI), Michel Ferrero and Leonid Pourovskii who will share supervision of the research projects.

We are looking for talented and highly motivated individuals, preferably with confirmed expertise in (or familiarity with) one or several of the following fields: i) First-principles electronic structure  ii) Many-body theory and/or dynamical mean-field methods, iii)The physics/materials science of materials with strong electronic correlations.

The position will offer opportunities for collaborations with partner groups of the ERC-Synergy `Frontiers in Quantum Materials Control' (QMAC) project, see: http://www.q-mac.eu

Our group is also involved in the development of the TRIQS software project https://triqs.github.io/triqs/master/and has established collaborations with the Center for Computational Quantum Physics(Flatiron Institute, Simons Foundation, New York).

The starting date is flexible (typically Spring or Fall 2019). For full consideration, applications should be sent as soon as possible in December 2018 or early January 2019 , but will be accepted until the position(s) are filled.
