Nanostructure Physics Group at the University of Ostrava, the Czech Republic, is looking for a progressive, ambitious, and innovative postdoctoral researcher with a focus on electronic structure modeling of 2D materials to join its team under the European and Global Marie Skłodowska-Curie 2023 Postdoctoral fellowship program.

Requirements for applicants

  • Background in computational physics, material science, quantum chemistry, or related fields
  • Ph.D. degree (up to 8 years from obtaining) in the mentioned or similar disciplines
  • Prior experience with atomistic modeling or computational science, experience with plane-wave codes (as VASP), scripting, or programming
  • Publications related to electronic structure modeling of 2D materials (at least one first-authored paper in Q1 journal in WOS)
  • Experience with involvement in the projects
  • Good written and oral communication skills in English
  • Ability to work independently
  • Not staying in the Czech Republic for more than 12 months during the last 3 years at the time of the deadline

  • Outline of your project proposal (1 page)

 

Application deadline: 8th August 2023

 

The job position is connected with submitting of project proposal within the MSCA Postdoctoral fellowship program.

  • If your proposal gains a score higher than 93%, your position will be funded by the mentioned program.
  • If your proposal gains a score between 71 and 92%, your position could be funded by the Czech structural funds.
  • If you are from a Widening country and your proposal’s score will be higher than 91%, your position could be funded by the ERA Fellowship.
