A Post-doctoral researcher position is open in the Laboratory for Materials and Structures at the Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan. The selected candidate will be joining the research activity in the group of Dr. Hena Das. DAS group employs various microscopic models and density functional theory (DFT) based calculations to understand and predict the quantum phenomena in materials at the level of atoms and electrons. The DAS group aims to develop quantitative guidelines to tailor properties of materials in order to design novel materials/phenomena. The selected candidate will participate in DAS Lab’s research projects which will be primarily focused on electronic and magnetic complex oxides.

Candidate should have a Ph.D. degree in physics, chemistry, materials science or related fields. Candidate should have prior experience with first-principles calculations at the level of DFT and preferably atomistic simulation methods. The successful candidate should have substantial experience and track records of research (in terms of high-quality journal publications and top conference publications) in the field of theoretical and computational materials physics and related area. The successful candidate should also have strong problem-solving and excellent collaboration skills.

The position is available from April 1st, 2020 (or the earliest possible date thereafter).

Applicants are invited to apply directly to [email protected] with full Curriculum vitae including two references. Application must be sent by January 28th, 2020.
