We are looking for talented and motivated students interested in computational solid-state physics and chemistry. The doctoral student will be involved in the research of material properties of low-dimensional molecular systems. The main goal will be a deeper understanding of the processes associated with the formation of low-dimensional molecular systems on solid surfaces and a description of their charge and spin states. We expect tight collaboration with in-house experiments as well as other world-leading experimental laboratories. Namely, theoretical calculations will be performed in close cooperation with experimental studies of novel 1D and 2D molecular systems showing exotic quantum properties.  During PhD study, complementary computational methods (DFT, DMRG, QM / MM) will be used in order to describe the studied systems as realistically as possible. The development of new simulation tools within the PhD study is also expected.
