We offer a PhD position in theoretical physics with a focus on nanoscale radiative heat transfer. The work will be done in a larger network of scientists (Center for Nanoscale Dynamics, https://uol.de/physik/forschung/cenad) at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg in Germany. The main task is to determine near-field radiative heat transfer within the framework of fluctuational electrodynamics with analytical methods and numerical tools. In the collaboration we interact with teams using molecular dynamics and density functional approaches so that a certain knowledge of these methods will be beneficial.
