Applications are invited for a Junior Postdoctoral position at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Italy. The position is for one year but can be extended upon mutual agreement and availability of funding, subject to satisfactory research performance.  The research topic is the theoretical investigation of  electronic and optical properties of metal and metal-free oxynitrides of different dimensionality for photocatalytic applications, in particular H₂ production. Theoretical investigations will be performed within the Density Functional Theory and the Many Body Perturbation Theory.

Personal Specification:

We are looking for a skilled and highly motivated candidate with a solid background in Physics and Condensed Matter theory. Proven knowledge of Density Functional Theory and Many Body  Perturbation Theory methods constitutes a clear advantage. Programming and analytical skills, and knowledge of high performance computing are considered a plus. Applicants must hold a PhD degree in Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Materials Science and Engineering or similar fields.
