Missions:

We are looking for an excellent individual to ensure the following missions:

- to monitor and to optimize an infrastructure (hardware and software) for storing and exchanging lithium ion batteries characterization data between the different laboratories of the French Network on Electrochemical Energy Storage (RS2E) and other partners of a recently granted European project within the research initiative Battery 2030+ (https://battery2030.eu/): the BIG MAP project (http://www.big-map.eu/). Such infrastructure is located at the Hub de l’Energie (Amiens, France);

- to set up a standardized data template in the Cloud to be continuously fed with experimental data by the RS2E and European partners, to perform data analytics and forecasting using machine and deep learning methods, and to ensure the partners with a secured access to the data and to the results.

Position is for 1+1 years with a competitive salary function of the candidate experience.

Activities:

The activities will concern the maintenance of the data storage facility, the implementation and optimization of computer programs managing the automatic storage and exchange of big data arising from experimental characterizations carried out in the RS2E and other European partners, as well as their analysis by machine learning approaches. The engineer will be strongly involved in the BIG MAP project and in the RS2E meetings and will be able to contribute in scientific publications.

Context:

The work will take place in the Hub de l’Energie, the headquarters building of the RS2E, located at one of the Université de Picardie Jules Verne (UPJV) campuses, in the beautiful city of Amiens, France. The engineer will ensure frequent reporting of her/his work to the RS2E scientific committee and will provide technical assistance to its laboratories when needed. She/he will be also in contact with the UPJV for the technical aspects allowing to ensure appropriate data transfer rates through the local Internet network, the appropriate utilization of the GPUs as well as data security.

Required skills:

• Master or Engineer in Computational Science or in Big Data, with minimal 1 to 2 years of work experience;
• Excellent programming experience, strong skills on data analytics, machine learning and software engineering;
• Required confirmed experience on servers (hardware) and informatic networks;
• Excellent organizational and time management skills;
• Ability to communicate results clearly and succinctly;
• Ability to work in a team and to work independently;
• Excellent level of English mandatory.
