The Institute for Materials Discovery IMD is looking for a motivated Lecturer (Teaching) in materials science focused on machine learning to  deliver Machine Learning and Data-Driven Materials Science related modules, and support the teaching of core modules at MSc Level.

IMD offers a uniquely stimulating diverse and open environment with more than 20 staff members pursuing high-quality research and teaching. We have a lively community of academic staff, postdocs, PhD and MSc students working across multiple experimental and computational domains. We have groups working on materials for bio sensors, energy storage and conversion (e.g., photovoltaics, thermoelectrics), materials for sustainability as well as multiscale computational materials modelling and data-driven discovery.

Key Requirements

 
* PhD or equivalent in Materials Science/Engineering, Materials Process Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or related Science / Engineering degree including Computer Science/Mathematics, with background in Machine Learning applications.
 
* Experience in teaching Science/Engineering in related topics (Data-Driven, and Machine Learning). 
 
* Experience in software development, related to to artificial intelligence topics, e.g., python, C++, JAVA, etc.  
 
* Knowledge of machine learning frameworks (PyTorch,Scikit, or similar).
 
The successful candidate will be supervising dissertations for graduate levels.
