The Department of Physics at Georgetown University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in theoretical/computational condensed matter physics at the rank of Assistant Professor.
We seek candidates who have potential for synergy with ongoing research efforts in the department. Areas of particular interest include, but are not limited to, hard condensed matter and quantum materials. The university’s location in Washington, DC provides opportunities for building additional collaborative ties with researchers in nearby government laboratories, universities, and other research institutions.
A Ph.D. or equivalent degree in physics or a closely related field is required. The ideal candidate will have an outstanding research record and potential to leverage synergies within the department and with other academic units on campus, as well as a strong commitment to excellence, inclusivity, and innovation in teaching. The department strives to create an inclusive environment for learning and research, and we seek candidates who will contribute to this goal.

a research statement summarizing major accomplishments, current work, and future directions leading to an externally funded research program (up to 5 pages)

three letters of recommendation submitted on your behalf
