A 3-years fully funded Ph.D. scholarship is available at the Department of Physics and Nanotechnology, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai, India under the guidance of Dr. Rudra Banerjee, Assistant Professor.
The project involves the study of electronic and magnetic structures of 2d energy materials using density functional theory and machine learning.
Requirements: The candidate should have
M.Sc. in Physics or related fields with at least 2 courses on condensed matter theory and the M.Sc. project in computational condensed matter/physics.
Good programming knowledge, including fortran and python(3)
Experience either in the following topic is a plus:
DFT calculations
high-throughput computation and machine learning
Familiarity with GNU/Linux OS is highly desirable.
