Research Scientist (Postdoc) (m/f/d) Materials C ... (No replies)
The Helmholtz-Zentrum Geesthacht (HZG), in Geesthacht, near Hamburg, and in Teltow, near Berlin, conducts materials and coastal research. For further information please refer to: http://www.hzg.de
HZG is one of the 19 national institutions of the Hermann von Helmholtz Association of German Research Centres e.V. (HGF). Around 1,000 employees carry out basic research and development work in close cooperation with national and international research institutions, research-oriented clinics and economic and public institutions.
At the Institute of Biomaterial Sciencesome 100 scientists research multi-functional, polymer-based biomaterials for applications in regenernative medicine. Their implants and active agent delivery systems provide customised properties and functions to restore impaired body functions.
Research Scientist (Postdoc) (m/f/d)Materials Chemistry
Reference code: 50012960_2 – 2020/B 4
Commencement date: as soon as possible initially for one year
The place of employment is Teltow, Germany.
The Institute of Biomaterial Science in Teltow of the Helmholtz-Zentrum Geesthacht and Berlin Brandenburg Centre for Regenerative Therapies (BCRT) invite applications for a Postdoc (m/f/d) Materials Chemistry with a focus on synthesis and characterization of multifunctional polymeric materials in the context of program-oriented funding. This is initially a 1-year fixed term contract with the potential of continuation depending on applicant’s performance.
Within this project we seek to develop soft adaptive materials. You are responsible for the design, synthesis and characterization of these multifunctional materials, which should provide sensing and response functionality to be capable to respond to changes of the environment.
You have the opportunity to actively participate in the publication of the results, preparation of patents, and in attracting additional funding.
You have PhD in organic chemistry or macromolecular sciences, chemistry or polymer engineering, and a strong background in organic chemistry. You have already gained experience in design, synthesis and characterization of stimuli-sensitive molecular switches as documented by a significant number of scientific publications. Additional knowledge in coordination compounds or materials with self-healing capability is highly welcome. You are eager to collaborate with material scientists, biologists, mechanical and electrical engineers and researchers from other disciplines and to transfer your ideas to applications-based research.
We offer you
- a multinational work environment with ca. 1,000 colleagues from more than 50 nations
