A postdoc position is available in the condensed matter physics group at Rutgers University, working with Prof. Kristjan Haule and Prof. Gabriel Kotliar, in the framework of a Simons Collaboration.

Computational Science is  undergoing rapid growth and  this position  offers  a postdoc a  unique opportunity for scientific growth.

The open postdoc position is for the Simons Collaboration on the Many Electron Problem, in which novel algorithms are being developed for tackling the many body problem in solids.

The aim of this project is to develop diagrammatic Monte Carlo algorithm for generic solid state problem. Diagrammatic Monte Carlo has been developed and applied to simpler problems, such as the Hubbard model at high temperatures and to the uniform electron gas at high density.

It is  a very promising technique and  extension to more challenging situations,  in particular to real solids, is very promising.

The position involves both algorithm and code development, therefore prior experience with both the many body methods and some code development is required.

The postdoctoral position is for one year, and can be extended to two years. The position is available immediately and should be filled as soon as possible.  Applications will be taken into consideration until the position is filled.
