Application are invited for two postdoc positions at the Departement of Physics of the University of Trento, Italy. The university of Trento is one of the top university in Italy, classified first among state university in the last ANVUR ranking, ideally situated in the heart of the dolomites in a region protected by UNESCO. Trento is routinely classified among the top three town with the highest quality of life in Italy.
The first position is in the field of two dimensional materials such as graphene, graphite, transition metal dichalcogenides, magnetic 2D materials and other 2D crystals. Possible topics among others are superconductivity, magnetism, electric and thermal transport.
The second position is in the field of first principles electronic structure calculation and allows for more flexibility in the research subjects.
Ideally, the candidate should have a strong background in condensed matter physics and a good experience in electronic structure calculations. The positions have to be filled within 2020.
The candidate will work under the supervision of Matteo Calandra and in the field of two dimensional materials such as graphene, graphite, transition metal dichalcogenides, magnetic 2D materials and others. Possible topics among others are superconductivity, magnetism, electric and thermal transport. Ideally, the candidate should have a solid background in condensed matter physics and a good experience in electronic structure calculations. Interested candidates can send an e-mail with motivation letter, CV, full publication list and references to [email protected]
