Job announcements relevant to people interested in electronic structure calculations…

Due to the large number of posts recently, there is currently a delay of several weeks between posts being submitted and the corresponding emails being distributed to all users. Please bear with us while we try to improve this. In the meantime – and until this notice is removed – it would assist us considerably if you could submit only important and/or urgent posts and thus help to reduce the size of the mail queue. Under no circumstances should you resend posts multiple times when you find the emails are not distributed immediately.

In light of the Russian military offensive in Ukraine, we request that announcements relating to events, jobs and other activities associated with institutions supported by the Russian and Belarusian states are not posted to the Psi-k forum.

Two PhD positions in ab initio calculations for surface chemistry are open in the Department of Chemical and Energy Engineering at London South Bank University. The projects will start in Autumn 2021.

Project one: development of new piezoelectric catalysts for applications in chemical engineering such as hydrogen generation and degradation of organic pollutants.

Project two: study of the behaviour of existing lubricant additives, and especially their interaction with industrially relevant surfaces, and develop new, more effective chemical formulations.

Further details can be found here.

We are looking for candidates with a Master-level degree in science or engineering subject, an inquisitive nature and enthusiasm for learning. Informal enquiries are welcome and should be sent to Dr Chiara Gattinoni ([email protected]). Interested candidates should send a CV and cover letter to the same email address.
