Dear PSI-K members,

The Canepa Research (https://caneparesearch.org) group at the University of Houston, Texas, is currently seeking two bright Ph.D. student candidates to work in the areas of energy storage and conversion. Their research works will use advanced computational techniques, including ab initio methods, cluster expansion-based Hamiltonian, and Monte Carlo techniques.

Our research is at the intersection of computational materials science, and the development of new materials for applications in energy storage and conversion. We are looking for industrious, and inquisitive candidates who can bring novel and interdisciplinary momentum to the energy storage field. We are committed to improving diversity in materials sciences. Therefore, applicants from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Our research group https://caneparesearch.org/team/ is in the process of relocating from the National University of Singapore to the University of Houston in Texas.

Potential graduate students are not required prior knowledge of computational materials science. However, some interest in computer science, chemistry, materials science, and physics is paramount for the success of your Ph.D.

Interested applicants should contact in advance Dr. Canepa at [email protected], and before submitting a formal application to the University of Houston Materials Science and Engineering Program.

Best regards

Pieremanuele
