Two Ph.D. position with full financial support are immediately open in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, focusing on ab initio simulations of defects in complex oxides. The positions are offered in Prof. Haixuan Xu’s research group (http://xhx.utk.edu). The applicants are expected to have a solid background in materials science and/or solid-state physics. Applicants with experience in density functional theory, a programming language such as Fortran or Python, and shell scripting would be a plus. Both positions will be in collaborations with other experimental and theoretical groups at the UTK and Oak Ridge National Laboratory
