Job announcements relevant to people interested in electronic structure calculations…

Due to the large number of posts recently, there is currently a delay of several weeks between posts being submitted and the corresponding emails being distributed to all users. Please bear with us while we try to improve this. In the meantime – and until this notice is removed – it would assist us considerably if you could submit only important and/or urgent posts and thus help to reduce the size of the mail queue. Under no circumstances should you resend posts multiple times when you find the emails are not distributed immediately.

In light of the Russian military offensive in Ukraine, we request that announcements relating to events, jobs and other activities associated with institutions supported by the Russian and Belarusian states are not posted to the Psi-k forum.

Three 2-year postdoc positions are currently available at the Materials and Energy Division, Beijing Computational Science Research Center (CSRC) working with Professors Su-Huai Wei and Bing Huang in the field of computational materials science.

The project focuses on the development of theory and advanced computational methods for studying optoelectronic properties of photovoltaic and light-emitting materials, defect physics in semiconductors, novel properties in low-dimensional materials, and magnetic properties of semiconductors. More detailed research activity can be found at http://www.csrc.ac.cn/en/people/faculty/154.html. This project will benefit from our high-level supercomputer located at CSRC, which is ideally suited for large-scale computational studies.

CSRC provides competitive salaries as well as research grant, housing, and transportation benefits. Applicants are required to have a Ph.D degree in physics, chemistry, or materials science from a reputable university or research institute with strong background in theoretical condensed matter as well as previous experience with ab-initio simulation softwares. Interested candidates should send a CV, including full list of publications, and three letters of recommendation on behalf of the candidate by email to Prof. Wei ([email protected]) or Prof. Huang ([email protected]) to start the application process.
