Job announcements relevant to people interested in electronic structure calculations…

Due to the large number of posts recently, there is currently a delay of several weeks between posts being submitted and the corresponding emails being distributed to all users. Please bear with us while we try to improve this. In the meantime – and until this notice is removed – it would assist us considerably if you could submit only important and/or urgent posts and thus help to reduce the size of the mail queue. Under no circumstances should you resend posts multiple times when you find the emails are not distributed immediately.

In light of the Russian military offensive in Ukraine, we request that announcements relating to events, jobs and other activities associated with institutions supported by the Russian and Belarusian states are not posted to the Psi-k forum.

A 3-year PhD position offered at the Foton Institute in Rennes, France, from Sept-Oct 2023 to Sept-Oct 2026.

The theory group at the Foton Institute has developed since 2010 a world-class expertise in understanding the physics of perovskite materials as well as modeling and simulating their optoelectronic properties. This work, done in tight collaboration with experimental laboratories in Europe and the US, has yielded multiple publications in high-impact journals such as Nature and Science. Perovskite semiconductors have become paramount for photovoltaic applications and optoloelectronics more generally, especially in the form of multilayers stackings. The PhD, fully funded by the french government, will entail modeling the electronic structure and the charge carrier dynamics in these systems. A particular interest will be given to the coupling with atomic lattice dynamics, to carrier- carrier interactions and to surface effects. These calculations will be related to experimental studies performed by our collaborators: pump-probe, microscopy, spectroscopy, using large scientific instruments or done on functioning devices.

See the attached file for more details and the application procedure.
