Dear forum members,

I would like to draw your attention to SULI program (https://science.osti.gov/wdts/suli/) that encourages undergraduate students and recent graduates to pursue science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) careers by providing research experiences at the Department of Energy (DOE) laboratories. Selected students participate as interns appointed at one of 17 participating DOE laboratories/facilities. They perform research, under the guidance of laboratory staff scientists or engineers, on projects supporting the DOE mission.

We are looking for applicants who would like to come to Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) in Summer 2022 through this program. Based on mutual interests and acceptance to the program, Nuclear Science and Technologies department at BNL can host various summer students to conduct research on various topics such as:

• First-principles simulations of core-level spectra of molten salts such as UCl4, NiCl2, CrCl2, CrCl3 using FEFF (http://monalisa.phys.washington.edu/feffproject-feff.html) and EXCITING (http://exciting.wikidot.com/) programs.
• Developing efficient routines for post-processing of X-ray diffraction computed tomography datasets.
