A number of Postdoctoral Research Fellowships and Ph.D. studentships are available in all research areas of the Centre for Advanced Photovoltaics CTU in Prague, including:

 

 

Two Fellowships to work on the in silico design of smart self-assembling materials for photovoltaic applications.

 

One Fellowship in experimental microscopic studies of transient phenomena in PV materials, structures, and complete device.

 

One Fellowship to work on the fabrication, characterisation and modelling of photonic structures to enhance the capture of light.

 

One Fellowship to work on the Building Integrated and Building Applied Photovoltaics (BIPV, BAPV).

 

One Fellowship to work on the theoretical studies and interpretation of optical measurements of novel solid state materials.

 

One Fellowship to work on the preparations of novel high efficient heterojunction silicon solar cell.

 

One Fellowship to work on the synthesis and characterisation of organic layers attached to the surface silicon.

 

One Fellowship to work on the chemical preparation of materials for photovoltaic utilization.

The applicants for Fellowships should hold, or be about to obtain, a doctorate in the relevant academic discipline. The appointment will be for three years with probation period of one year. At the end of the three-year period, opportunities will exist for exceptional candidates to apply for longer-term posts (assistant professor). Interested candidates should apply, with an up-to-date CV, a brief statement of proposed research and the names and contact details of two referees to [email protected]. The positions can be discussed informally with the leaders of the appropriate research themes. Starting salary will be within the range of Euro 1600 – 2000 per month depending on the qualifications and experience.

For all the applicants (Ph.D. Studentships as well as Research Fellowships), knowledge of the Czech language is not mandatory but a good working knowledge of English is essential.

The deadline for the first round of applications for Research Fellowships is 24th February 2017. It is intended to hold interviews with the short listed candidates between 3rd and 5th April 2017; applicants from outside Europe will be interviewed by Skype. Further appointments will be made at approximately six-monthly intervals until all positions are filled.
