Job announcements relevant to people interested in electronic structure calculations…

Due to the large number of posts recently, there is currently a delay of several weeks between posts being submitted and the corresponding emails being distributed to all users. Please bear with us while we try to improve this. In the meantime – and until this notice is removed – it would assist us considerably if you could submit only important and/or urgent posts and thus help to reduce the size of the mail queue. Under no circumstances should you resend posts multiple times when you find the emails are not distributed immediately.

In light of the Russian military offensive in Ukraine, we request that announcements relating to events, jobs and other activities associated with institutions supported by the Russian and Belarusian states are not posted to the Psi-k forum.

Dear all,

There are three exciting opportunities in the Computational Chemistry Group at Science and Technology Facilities Council, UK.

1. A fixed term 2 year position for a data computational scientist in materials informatics - http://www.careersportal.co.uk/UKRI-careers/jobs/data-computational-scientist-3360 . We are looking for a talented Research Software Engineer interested to contribute their knowledge and skills towards molecular simulation workflow infrastructures and data integration, semantisation and analytics activities (interoperability and AI ready) for our PSDI (https://www.psdi.ac.uk/) and H2020 initiatives (https://dome40.eu/home , https://ontocommons.eu/).

2. Two open ended positions for computational research software engineers - https://www.careersportal.co.uk/UKRI-careers/jobs/computational-chemist-research-software-engineer-3390. We are looking for computational scientists with software engineering skills to join our modelling and development efforts on a range of classical techniques such as particle dynamics and Monte Carlo approaches. As part of the Ada Lovelace Centre (https://adalovelacecentre.ac.uk/) they will work in collaboration with research communities at STFC Facilities towards modernisation, advancement and application of the methods and simulation workflows to enable and support experimental science computationally.

Closing date for applications will be Thursday 17th August 2023.

Please feel free to forward to interested colleagues and networks.

Regards,

Ilian Todorov
