Responsibilities:

• Exploring of combined machine learning and atomistic simulation methods for virtual molecule/material design
• Definition of material research projects to ensure acceleration and innovation in material development
• Data acquisition and parameterization of physics-based and/or machine learning models for material design
• Independent collaboration in material research projects
• Collaboration with leading experts and institutes in the field of Data-driven atomistic material modeling
• Supporting the integration of virtual material design within Freudenberg for various materials and products

Qualifications:

• Degree in chemistry/materials science or similar qualification with profound knowledge in material modeling at the atomic or mesoscopic level
• Experience with machine learning (statistical methods) and data-driven materials research
• Experience with data pipelines (data acquisition, structuring, sorting, preparation)
• Sound programming skills (e.g. Python) and familiarity with ML platforms (e.g. Scikit-learn, Keras, TensorFlow etc.)
• Experience in the application of machine learning in the field of molecule/material design (e.g. lubricants/polymers)
• Very good written and spoken German and English skills
