Cambridge Quantum Computing (CQC) is a UK independent company combining expertise in Quantum Information Processing, Artificial Intelligence, Optimisation and Pattern Recognition.

The company’s Cambridge based quantum software team are seeking to hire a research software developer. This is a full time position. You will be working on the design and implementation of quantum computer algorithms for computational chemistry/materials science applications.

This position requires a background in Quantum Information Theory/Quantum Computing or in Quantum Chemistry/Condensed Matter electronic structure calculation techniques. The position involves software development primarily in C++ and Python. You will be collaborating with a small team, and will have input in the entire development process through research, design, programming and testing. You will have the freedom to think independently and creatively in the team and make a real impact.

Key Requirements

  • A 2:1 degree or higher in Science, Mathematics, Computer Science or Engineering.
  • Strong programming skills (C++, Python).
  • Ability to understand technical and advanced research material and transfer new ideas into code.
  • Comfortable working in a team, communicating ideas and writing code that can beunderstood by others.
  • Able to work independently and manage your time well.
  • A background in either Quantum Information/Computation or Quantum Chemistry/Condensed Matter electronic structure calculation techniques.

 

All candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK.

The successful candidate will be compensated with a highly competitive salary and will join the company’s attractive share option and bonus scheme.
