A Research Scientist position is available in the group of Prof. Pratibha Dev in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the Howard University (Washington DC, USA). The focus of the research is to study novel topological superconductors using first principles methods and the EPW code. The appointment is initially for one year and is extendible to two additional years, based on the performance of the candidate and the availability of funds. The annual salary is $60,000 to $65,000 depending on experience.

The research scientist is expected to perform research as well as mentor a graduate student on the project. In particular, this senior scientist position entails:
QUALIFICATIONS:
Successful applicants will have a PhD. in computational/theoretical condensed matter physics or related disciplines, with a proven capacity for excellent research that is reflected in a strong publication record. A strong background in electronic structure methods is essential. Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in studying topological and/or superconducting materials. Experience using structure-prediction methods is desirable.
