Job announcements relevant to people interested in electronic structure calculations…
Due to the large number of posts recently, there is currently a delay of several weeks between posts being submitted and the corresponding emails being distributed to all users. Please bear with us while we try to improve this. In the meantime – and until this notice is removed – it would assist us considerably if you could submit only important and/or urgent posts and thus help to reduce the size of the mail queue. Under no circumstances should you resend posts multiple times when you find the emails are not distributed immediately.
In light of the Russian military offensive in Ukraine, we request that announcements relating to events, jobs and other activities associated with institutions supported by the Russian and Belarusian states are not posted to the Psi-k forum.

RIKEN Center for Emergent Matter Science (CEMS) is looking for a Research Scientist to join their First-principles Materials Science Research Team.
Research Field and Overview
Based on first-principles methods, the team studies non-trivial electronic properties of materials. Especially, they aim at predicting unexpected phenomena in strongly correlated and/or topological materials and establishing new guiding principles for materials design. They are also interested in the development of new methods for ab initio electronic structure calculation.

Job description
Theoretical study on strongly-correlated systems from first principles. Developments in numerical methods combining first-principles calculations, quantum many-body theory, and machine learning to describe many-body effects accurately. Exploration of functional strongly-correlated materials through quantitative simulations using the developed methods.
The successful candidate is expected to conduct research and development on topics specified above and to contribute to the management of the laboratory.
Qualification
Doctoral degree (or equivalent research ability and background) in the relevant research field
