Job announcements relevant to people interested in electronic structure calculations…

Due to the large number of posts recently, there is currently a delay of several weeks between posts being submitted and the corresponding emails being distributed to all users. Please bear with us while we try to improve this. In the meantime – and until this notice is removed – it would assist us considerably if you could submit only important and/or urgent posts and thus help to reduce the size of the mail queue. Under no circumstances should you resend posts multiple times when you find the emails are not distributed immediately.

In light of the Russian military offensive in Ukraine, we request that announcements relating to events, jobs and other activities associated with institutions supported by the Russian and Belarusian states are not posted to the Psi-k forum.

The Modelling and Simulation Department at the Nanomaterials and Nanotechnology Research Center (CINN-CSIC), from the Spanish National Research Council has an immediate opening for a research position (pre- or post-doc) to work at the interface between DFT calculations and micromagnetism. Highly qualified candidates with solid academic education in physics, materials science, chemistry or related disciplines are invited to apply. Degrees such as M.Sc. or equivalent qualifications are required for PhD studies, although promising undergraduates can also be considered. Candidates with prior experience in one or more of the following areas will be given preference: theory and simulation of condensed matter, micromagnetic modelling, programming (preferably in python/fortran), ML/IA techniques, workflows and high-throughput calculations.

Unfortunately, only candidates already eligible for working in Spain can be considered. Please send your application (including a cover letter describing your research interests, curriculum vitae, and contact information of two references) to Miguel Pruneda (mpruneda_AT_cinn.es).
