PhD and postdoc grants are available in the group of Claudia Draxl at HU Berlin, starting in early 2022. The proposed work spans from development and implementation of methodology in the field of theoretical spectroscopy to various aspects of a data infrastructure for excited-state properties and codes.

Draxl’s group is developing the program package exciting, http://exciting-code.org, implementing (time-dependent) density-functional theory, many-body perturbation theory in terms of the GW approach and the Bethe-Salpeter equation as well es electron-phonon coupling. The team is part of the NOMAD Center of Excellence, https://www.nomad-coe.eu/, that aims at bringing computational materials-science codes to the exascale. The group also hosts the NOMAD Data Center at HU Berlin, https://nomad-lab.eu/career/nomad-hub.

Successful candidates should have excellent knowledge in condensed-matter theory, in particular many-body perturbation theory and (TD)DFT. Excellent programming skills in either modern FORTRAN or Python are a must.

If you are highly motivated to work in a lively and multi-disciplinary international team and have proven experience in software development, send your motivation letter together with your CV and contact details for two references to [email protected].
