Job announcements relevant to people interested in electronic structure calculations…

Due to the large number of posts recently, there is currently a delay of several weeks between posts being submitted and the corresponding emails being distributed to all users. Please bear with us while we try to improve this. In the meantime – and until this notice is removed – it would assist us considerably if you could submit only important and/or urgent posts and thus help to reduce the size of the mail queue. Under no circumstances should you resend posts multiple times when you find the emails are not distributed immediately.

In light of the Russian military offensive in Ukraine, we request that announcements relating to events, jobs and other activities associated with institutions supported by the Russian and Belarusian states are not posted to the Psi-k forum.

The School of Mathematics & Physics at Queen's University Belfast (QUB), is currently seeking to appoint an exceptional candidate to the post of Research Fellow to model interfaces and defects of the wide-band-gap semiconductor Ga2O3 from first principles.

The research will be carried out as a part of the US-Ireland Research & Development Partnership project “Ga2O3: Understanding Growth, Interfaces and Defects to enable next generation Electronics” (USI-195, “GUIDE”). The modelling part, co-ordinated by Dr Lorenzo Stella and Dr Myrta Gruening at QUB, is expected to help with the device characterisation and synthesis done in the experimental groups directed by Professor Robert Bowman at QUB and by partners at the Tyndall National Institute (TNI) in Cork, Republic of Ireland, and the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD).

The successful candidate will join the School of Mathematics and Physics at Queen’s University Belfast. Queen’s University Belfast is a member of the prestigious Russell Group of the 24 leading research-intensive universities in the UK.
