A research associate (m/f/d) position in the group of non-equilibrium many-body systems http://qft0.physik.uni-halle.de/ at the institute of physics of the Martin-Luther University, Halle-Wittenberg, Germany, is available for initially 3 years with the possibility for post-doctoral qualification (Habilitation). The aim is to develop theories and codes for the coherent control of charge and spin dynamic in molecular and nanostructures driven by textured laser pulses.

Necessary qualifications

• PhD. in physics or quantum chemistry
• Demonstrated experience in theoretical and computational methods of quantum dynamics in laser fields
• Capability of independent and collaborative research
• Solid understanding of spin dynamics
• English communication skills, written and spoken

Desirable  Qualifications

• Knowledge of statistical mechanics and quantum information
• Experience in computational packages for quantum material simulations
• German language skills
