About the Role

Zapata Computing seeks outstanding scientists with backgrounds in physics, biology, quantum chemistry, materials science, bioinformatics, quantitative finance, or other related areas. As a quantum applications scientist, you will discover and develop industry applications for quantum computing. You will engage with industry partners to devise innovative quantum computing solutions for challenging problems in collaboration with Zapata quantum software engineers.

Key responsibilities include:

Use Zapata computing software platform to implement code for the above mathematical models.
Author scientific papers, patents or technical reports with colleagues.
Develop code associated to algorithmic developments tailored for near-term quantum devices.
Other related responsibities as needed.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Record of creative, high-quality work​ represented by peer reviewed publications, patents, or code repositories
Excellent presentation and communication skills​
Excellent mathematical and computational skills in a scientific discipline​
BS in related field area plus 3 years of relevant industry experience

Desired Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Prefer Ph.D. in a STEM field​ or MS with 1 year of relevant industry experience
Track record of developing novel computational or analytical tools ​
Experience with or exposure to quantum computing​
