The successful candidate, by linking closely theory/computation and existing noisy intermediate-scale quantum (NISQ) technology, will work on novel quantum algorithms that leverage a combination of classical and quantum computation resources to predict many-body and excited-state phenomena, as well as using optimal qubit allocation and compiling strategies. Possibilities to interact with startup companies in the vibrant Boston/Cambridge environment exist. Ideal candidates will have a background in computational physics/chemistry, mathematical methods in quantum information or theoretical computer science including the development of new methods and thorough knowledge of existing methods. Experience with quantum programming languages and scientific high-performance computing is preferred. A Ph.D. in computer science, physics, applied physics, applied mathematics, quantum chemistry, or similar is expected by the start date.

Please email Prof. Narang with a detailed CV, list of publications and a statement of research interests.
