Position Summary:
Berkeley Lab’s Energy Storage & Distributed Resources Division has an opening for a Postdoctoral Scholar. Today, new tools and data sources are enabling an informatics-based approach to materials design. In this project, the postdoc will develop new methods for creating links between materials information and understanding materials properties through text mining and data mining. In addition, the postdoc will develop techniques to help link outputs of fundamental simulations from methods such as density functional theory to engineering properties of materials that are not directly accessible by simulation through the use of physical models and machine learning. The ultimate goal is to create several new resources that amplify the impact of data and simulations in materials design applications.
This position will be part of the Hackingmaterials research group at LBNL. Applications will be evaluated on a rolling basis and an early start is preferred.
