Postdoctoral Researcher, ICIQ, Spain

The Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to start ASAP.

This position will be funded by the H2020 European project 862453-FlowPhotoChem. FlowPhotoChem is a multi-national, EU-funded research project that is developing new and better ways to manufacture chemicals using carbon dioxide (CO₂) and sunlight.

Responsibilities

• We are looking for a person with a solid background in Physics/Computational Chemistry of Materials who has an interest in atomic-scale modelling and has performed studies and simulations applying density functional theory and microkinetic modelling, as well as electronic structure calculations by using periodic ab initio codes.
• The selected candidate will write reports and deliverables for the project
• The selected candidate will maintain our collaborations within the FlowPhotoChem project.

Requirements

• Strong expertise in the use of periodic DFT, VASP, QE and related codes.
• Completed Ph.D. in Physics, Computational Chemistry, Materials
• Previous experience in the use of HPC resources.
• The selected candidate should be motivated, open-minded, highly dynamic and capable of working independently as well as in a team.
• Proven excellent knowledge of English (desirable C1 level, IELTS 7.0-7.5). Able to write scientific articles and reports in good English.
