To strengthen our CP2K laboratory at Center for Advanced Systems Understanding (CASUS), we are seeking researchers for CP2K software development and user support. The position will be based in Görlitz with a full-time postdoctoral contract..

Your tasks

• Implementing CP2K development projects

• CP2K/SIRIUS interface development and user support

• Publishing results in academic and peer-reviewed journals

• Presenting results at scientific meetings

• Providing professional support for other members of the institute

Your profile

• Completed university studies (PhD) in the field of Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry or a related field

• Excellent programming skills in modern Fortran (standard F90 or later, preferred) or another higher programming language (C/C++/Python)

• Good knowledge of electronic structure methods for periodic systems, preferably FLAPW

• Experience with parallel computing paradigms (OpenMP, MPI)

• Experience in one of the following topics is a plus: tools and build systems, sparse matrix libraries, GPU programming (CUDA/HIP), implementation of k-point methods

• Experience with Linux, Git, and related tools and with high-performance computing

• Strong motivation to work in a collaborative environment

• Excellent communication skills in English and in a professional context
