An EPSRC-funded postdoctoral research position is available to carry out
computational studies of new materials for lithium and sodium batteries
within the materials chemistry group of Professor Saiful Islam at the
University of Bath.

The research project will apply advanced computational techniques (both
DFT and potentials-based methods) in the study of defect, electronic, ion
diffusion and surface properties of metal oxide and oxy-fluoride battery
materials. This work forms part of a new EPSRC Programme Grant on
Next-generation Batteries with strong links with collaborative
experimental studies of Prof Peter Bruce (Oxford) and Prof Clare Grey
(Cambridge).

Experience in computational materials science and a track record of
peer-reviewed publications are essential.

This post is available from 3rd April 2017 or shortly thereafter for up to
36 months. (Salary: Starting from £32,004, rising to £38,183)
