The University of Tennessee has an opening of a postdoctoral position in electronic and atomistic simulations. This position resides in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Tennessee (UT). The postdoctoral research associate will be supervised by Dr. Haixuan Xu at UT and will work closely with scientists at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. The initial appointment is a temporary full-time assignment of 12 months with the possibility of extension.
Requirement
Experience with density functional theory and ab initio molecular dynamics.
Experience with transition metal oxides and oxide superlattices.
Develop tools and scripts to facilitate studies of various material systems.
Present and report research results and publish in peer-reviewed scientific journals in a timely manner
Work collaboratively in a team environment and interact effectively with a broad range of colleagues
Qualifications Required: A PhD in Materials Science, Physics, or a related discipline is required. The candidate is expected to have a record of productive research demonstrated by publications in peer-reviewed journals.
