Job announcements relevant to people interested in electronic structure calculations…

Due to the large number of posts recently, there is currently a 3-4 week delay between posts being submitted and emails being sent to the mailing list. Please bear with us while we try to improve this.

In light of the Russian military offensive in Ukraine, we request that announcements relating to events, jobs and other activities associated with institutions supported by the Russian and Belarusian states are not posted to the Psi-k forum.

The Department of Chemistry at Princeton University invites applications for postdoctoral positions. We are seeking individuals with less than 3 years post Ph.D. research experience. The Center is supported by the Computational and Theoretical Chemistry program of the DOE Office of Science, and has a main hub at Princeton University, a secondary hub at Temple University and nodes at the State University of New York (Stony Brook) and at Rutgers University at Newark. The goal of the Center is to advance the state of the art in the study of chemical and physical phenomena in fluids, interfacial and material environments, using novel multi-scale simulation approaches based on first-principles modeling and machine learning.

The center is seeking qualified candidates with a Ph. D. in physics, chemistry, engineering, applied mathematics, and related disciplines, having a strong background in theory and advanced computational methods in statistical mechanics and/or electronic structure theory. The researcher will collaborate, in an interdisciplinary environment, with the associated senior scientists of the Center, who include Roberto Car, Emily Carter, Pablo Debenedetti, Athanassios Panagiotopoulos, Annabella Selloni, and Michael Webb at Princeton, Michael Klein, Spiridoula Matsika, and Xifan Wu at Temple, Marivi Fernandez Serra at SUNY, and Neepa Maitra at Rutgers.

The initial appointment is for one year, with an expected renewal of a second year, contingent upon satisfactory performance and funding. The appointments will be made at Princeton University. This position is subject to the University's background check policy.

Applicants must apply online at

https://www.princeton.edu/acad-positions/position/28841 and submit a cover letter, CV, statement of interest, and three references by February 19, 2023, 11:59 p.m. EST. The final selection of the short-listed candidates will be made in March 2023 via personal interviews.
