A Postdoctoral Research Assistant position is available at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) in the Crespo-Otero group (https://crespootero.wordpress.com), to work on the project “Towards the Computational Design of Highly Emissive Organic-Single Crystals”.

This research programme will focus on the development of computational chemistry strategies towards the design of efficient emissive organic single crystals with applications in solid-state lasers. The project involves the investigation of nonradiative mechanisms in model materials and the implementation of methods to consider excited state dynamics in the crystal environment.

The ideal candidate should have a PhD in computational chemistry, physics and/or materials science. Previous experience in code development is highly desirable. For specific details about the project, please email Dr Crespo-Otero ([email protected]).

This is an EPRSC funded full-time position, available for a period of 2 years. The start date is 01/07/2018 or as soon as possible thereafter. The salary is £32,956- £36,677per annum inclusive of London allowance and is based on qualification, skills and experience. Benefits include 30 days annual leave and a defined benefits pension scheme.  

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
