Key Laboratory of High-temperature and High-pressure Study of the Earth’s Interior, Institute of Geochemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), seeks applications for Postdoctoral positions in the field of high-temperature and high-pressure studies on Earth’s interior materials. The research will focus on the transport properties, elastic properties, and thermodynamic properties of superionic materials using ab-initio molecular simulations (AIMD) and/or machine learning based molecular dynamics simulations (MLMD).

Minimum qualifications: The applicant must have a PhD degree in geosciences, physics, chemistry, materials science or a related field by the time of the employment.

 

Desired qualifications: Familiarity with MD simulation methods and software (VASP, cp2k, Lammps et al.,); Have experience with method development and code implementation for MD simulations or machine learning methods.

 

Position treatment:

  1. Salary: approximately 350k ~ 500k RMB/year (dependent on skills, experience, publications).
  2. Support and assist the special research assistant to apply for national and provincial scientific research projects.
  3. Those who have excellent performance in the employment assessment (>3 years) can apply (Associate/Full)Professor position of CAS, with an annual salary of no less than 500 k RMB/year, a research start-up grant of 2 to 4 million RMB, and a 140 ㎡ apartment for free (obtain property rights after ten years of working in the institute).

 

The appointment is for one year, with renewal for a second year pending progress. The position is available immediately and will be based at Institute of Geochemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences in Guiyang, China.
